Our Grades 1, 1A and 2, so called Diagnose- und Förderklasse (DFK, meaning: Diagnostic and Support Classes) are located on Kirchenstraße 13. 

This program is designed for first-grade students with special educational needs, even if these needs might be temporarily.

Small learning groups: In smaller learning groups, the children have close contact with the teacher. They can often participate actively. The teacher quickly identifies strengths and special needs.

More time: The children attend the DFK for three years (grades 1, 1A, and 2), giving them more time to learn the curriculum of grades 1 and 2 at their own pace.

Individualized support: The children receive diagnostic-based support from special education teachers.

Afterwards parents or guardians decide together with the teacher which path is best suited for the child. Several options are available:

• instruction at our school (Sonderpädagogisches Förderzentrum)

• instruction at the primary school with support from the mobile special education service

• instruction at the primary school without support

• instruction at a special education center with a different focus
