Life At Our School

Learning Through Engagement

Our school has been part of the LEARNING THROUGH ENGAGEMENT network for many years.

In this network, students are committed to helping others and the environment. They volunteer in social institutions or dedicate themselves to plant and animal conservation. They also collaborate with partners outside of school.

Students have the right to participate in the planning and implementation of these projects and have a say in the process. For these projects, the children need to read, write, and do arithmetic. They practice what they've learned in their science lessons. The strengths and talents of all children are utilized. Through LEARNING THROUGH ENGAGEMENT, the children experience: I can do this! My opinion matters!

They experience appreciation and take on responsibility as part of a democratic society.

In one major project, a class transformed our backyard into an insect-friendly school garden. All classes in the primary grades now learn a great deal about insects and plants in the school garden.
